Urban Roots

Patti Jablonski-Dopkin has been General Manager of Urban Roots Cooperative Garden Market since 2009. I have been thrilled to be a part of this organization and to have helped it grow from a funky little plant store to a respected, destination Garden Market. I am very proud of the free education series we have developed in collaboration with Grassroots Gardens and MAP serving the gardening community of WNY. Our mission to set gardeners up for success is the basis for how we do business. The diversity of our customer base is wide and far which makes everyday a fun challenge. Originally from Philadelphia, now calls Buffalo her home. Married with 1 adult child living in the Parkside area.

Has been in the horticulture field for 47 years working at various garden centers, florists. Worked at our family beer distributorship as Inventory Manager for 4 years.

Completed education at SUNY Alfred in Ornamental Horticulture and Business. Also graduated UB’s CEL program in 2017.

Habitat for Humanity, Buffalo

Our Mission Seeking to put faith into action, we bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope.

Our Vision A world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Habitat for Humanity Buffalo makes homeownership possible for local families. Since 1985, we have assisted more than 300 families in achieving their dream of homeownership. Families in Habitat Buffalo’s homebuyer program are able to purchase a decent, safe, affordable home. This is attainable for low-income families because Habitat Buffalo subsidizes the cost of the house through grants, donations, and volunteer labor. The homebuyer repays an affordable, 30-year mortgage, which supports the Fund for Humanity, a revolving account used to build additional homes
