The Rotary Club of Buffalo Sunrise is always looking to collect and repair bikes (bicycles).
Two members of the club, Denis Lefebvre (pictured left) and Maria Neudecker (pictured right) started the bike collection 2019 when they noticed how many bikes were being dumped that could be salvaged and donated to youth and children in underserved and low-income communities to use as a mean of transportation.
Building on prior years' success, this year did not disappoint either. The momentum could be felt as 80 bikes were collected and cleaned by club members. Repaired bikes will be donated to GObike Buffalo, Genesee Wellness Center, St. Luke’s Missionary, Jericho Road Community Health Center, and Journey's End Refugee Services.
To date (January 2024) we have collected, refurbished and donated >800 bikes!
