Currently serving as the CEO of the Lutheran Charities of Western New York. Melanie is a veteran with many passions. She relocated back to WNY after nearly a 30 year leave of absence in May 2020. Mom to adult son, Andrew and any animal that finds her.
Special interests/Hobbies: Runs long distance for fun and sanity. Bakes and cooks to fuel long distance running and sanity.
Year I joined Rotary and Why I joined Rotary: I joined Rotary in Tacoma WA in 2006. My goal was to connect with other like minded humans in an effort to improve the community we all shared and loved.
My Rotary involvements: While I am still getting my feet wet in the Buffalo Sunrise Rotary club, I have served as a board member, as the chair of the military affairs committee, chair of the scholarship committee and an active mentor to countless new Rotarians. I delivered the invocation regularly and enjoyed creating a deeply personal, yet secular message based on hope, commitment, and community.
