We are a collection of talented, diverse, and passionate women and men, with the unified goal of making our community -- locally and worldwide -- a better place for everyone.
We offer our time, energy, and financial resources to various organizations and projects, such as cooking meals for the Kevin Guest House on the medical campus, sorting and packing food for FeedMore Western New York, cleaning and maintaining our community’s valuable public spaces like the Niagara River - Greenway Trail and the Naval Park, and many more.
We collect, repair and recycle bicycles (and occasionally, tricycles and scooters), passing them along to worthy groups serving individuals needing transportation.
We also support various international projects, supporting a global grant to train indigenous people to operate water treatment plants on their territory, and spearheading a global grant to support students studying Community Economic development at Oxford, and at Cambridge University.
We strongly believe in making not only Western New York, but the entire world, a better place to live.
We love and appreciate our guest speakers. If you are looking to see what Rotary is about, guest speaker meetings are a great chance to learn about what interests our club members and what is going on in the community!
Rotary District 7090 - Southern Ontario & Western New York is happy to announce that The Rotary Foundation has approved a Global Scholarship for Ms. Norievill Espana. The host, the Rotary Club of St. Catherines, and the international partner, the Rotary Club of Buffalo Sunrise, worked together to secure over $42,000 (US) through the Global Scholarship for Norie, using District Designated Funds, Clubs’ donations, and the World Fund.

Currently serving as the CEO of the Lutheran Charities of Western New York. Melanie is a veteran with many passions. She relocated back to WNY after nearly a 30 year leave of absence in May 2020. Mom to adult son, Andrew and any animal that finds her.
Retired private secondary school administrator.Served as principal at Mount Mercy Academy and Head of School at Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart. Upon retirement in 2008, owned and operated Graves Do Matter,a personal grave care service, until 2018.
I joined Rotary in 2009 because I wanted an opportunity to get involved in both my local community and in projects worldwide!
Rotarian since 2020, Ben is a consultant helping nonprofit agencies and philanthropists amplify their impact.
MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Denis LeFebvre! IN HIS OWN WORDS:
I have been a Rotarian for over four years now. My initial contact in Rotary was with the most dedicated Rotarian in the entire district, Kevin Crosby (not just my opinion!!). He introduced me to Buffalo Sunrise and it was an instant fit! Since joining this diverse group of individuals I have had the privilege of being the President of our group and I am now an active member on our Board.
I currently work for a small local construction company in the Buffalo area. I have been directly involved in many development projects in Uganda and I try and visit there at least once a year for a month or more to oversee the ongoing work. I enjoy cycling and classic cars, and I spend an inordinate amount of time collecting Canadian coinage. Rotary has introduced me to like-minded people who strive for social equality and are hands on in their pursuit of making a difference. Cheers
Melissa is the Director of Marketing, Communications & Business Development for Millington Lockwood, Inc. She also serves as a member of SUNY Buffalo State College's Board of Directors, Chair of the Industry Advisory Board for the Data Science & Analytics Program at the College and is active with St. Luke’s Mission and their companion ministry Build Promise in the City of Buffalo. She resides in Buffalo, N.Y.
Sarah is the founder and Executive Director of Let There Be Light International, a US-based nonprofit engaged in solar programming in Africa to positively impact health, safety, education, economic stability and women's empowerment.
